What is ADHD Coaching?
A space to think clearly, without judgement.
ADHD coaching is a one-to-one conversation focused on the present and the future. Together we will explore what you actually want, what's getting in the way, and what realistic steps might move you forward. We might talk about what’s important to you, what your strengths are and how you can use them to your advantage!
At the start of our work together we will talk about how much direction you might want from me. That’s completely up to you. You might not know! That’s OK!
We might also talk about common things that people with ADHD experience through their lives which can sometimes help you to make sense of things a little more easily.
The structure of sessions varies depending on the person, but generally follows a similar pattern:
Sessions 1 and 2 - Exploration
Sessions 3, 4 and 5 - Goal setting, experimenting and barrier spotting
Session 6 - Reflection
ADHD coaching isn't therapy, but I might sometimes draw on some therapeutic approaches that I have developed over years working as a registered nurse alongside people experiencing challenging health and life events.
There are some occasions where I might feel that coaching isn’t best suited to you right now. I will be honest about that and signpost you to alternatives that may be able to better support you where you are at the moment.
